|The Wedding Dress|
I think what I like most about Hauck's writing (I've read a few of her other books, that I haven't reviewed) is that they have an element of magical realism which makes them somehow more believable. "The Wedding Dress" does not fail in this area and, in fact, make the book work in many ways.
Overall this book was a fun read. It didn't keep me on the edge of my seat, but there was enough tension to keep me reading. This is Christian fiction so there are elements of faith and inspiration which, of course, don't bother me, but might bother some readers. The characters were well developed and acted in believable, though often not predictable, ways.
Hauck does a great job of marrying (pun intended) fiction, history, modern life and faith into stories that are heartfelt and fun. I recommend this book, especially if you are looking for something that has those elements. Take this with you to the beach or curl up with it on the couch, either way this story will work for you in any season.
