At The Water's Edge is the story of Maddie Hyde who finds herself hunting the Loch Ness monster in Scotland during World War II. Her husband, who has dragged her along, has a score to settle and a fortune to restore. The journey leads Maddie into a realm of discovery about herself, her husband, her family and her closest friends. She must learn to adjust to new surroundings and possibly even a new life.
This was a fantastic book! I cannot recommend it enough. Beware of some language (the f-word is used a few times) and some sexual content. Both are small parts of the plot and important to the story. Also there was some violence. (I like to let you know potential triggers.)
This book definitely made me want to sail to Scotland in search of Nessie myself. I found myself yearning for a chance to spend some time in another culture and delving into another life, at least for a little while. This book definitely has some magical elements both as parts of the story and the way that the plot evolves. I definitely think you should read it.
This book will be released March 31, though you can preorder it now.
An advanced copy of this book was given to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book - all opinions are my own.
