Its the Little Things: 2.15.13

I decided that this week would be a good one to participate in my friend Lindsay's link-up. I made that decision on Monday. I didn't know that I was really going to need to focus on the little things this week, then. In fact last night I almost just gave up, but I decided not too!

Monday night I played UNO with my love. I found a deck of cards on clearance last week. We've had a blast playing with each other.

Delicious pasta that I cooked. You can't even taste the vegetables!

And of course this sweet thing! She was my snuggle buddy all week and my comforter. Everyone should have one of these, just not this one - SHE'S MINE!

I would be completely remiss if I didn't include this video. I laughed the whole time. It probably helps that the Goat 4 Sale Doritos commercial was my favorite from the Super Bowl.
So there you have 'em - my little things this week. What were yours?

Merry Mary Monday - 2.11.13

A couple weeks ago Mary was unintentionally playing Hide-and-Seek.

Where's Mary? I honestly wasn't sure. So I had to go look:

After I found her, I left the room again to do something else. When I came back I saw this:

Although, when I got closer I was able to spot her pretty easily....

I didn't want to disturb her again, so I took the picture through the blanket. I hope everyone has a fantastic week! Happy Monday!

Isle of Shadows by Tracy Higley

I've long wanted to travel to Greece. I think it would be so interesting to travel back in time to see what life was really like there. Isle of Shadows takes place on the Greek isle of Rhodes in the years between the New and Old Testament.

The leadership of Rhodes is at a crossroads of sorts as some of its leadership is working towards change. Caught in the middle is the beautiful Tessa. Tessa works in the service of one of the city's ten leaders, Glaucus, and must work to make sure that his mission is accomplished. When Glaucus dies Tessa must decide how to carry on her work. Will she tell the world that Glaucus is dead and let her employment go the highest bidder? Will she try to cover up what happened and keep the other leaders guessing?
This story was fantastic. It was fast paced and energetic. Higley's writing really made the city come alive. The sights, the sounds, the smells and the tension were all a vital part of the story. The writing of the book was tight and in…

Merry Mary Monday - 2.4.13

The following are pictures of Mary during the Super Bowl...

2nd Quarter
3rd Quarter
4th Quarter - Apparently she was cheering for the 49ers.
I hope you had fun watching the big game or not. I normally just watch for the commercials, but this year I actually watched a lot of the game, especially the second half.
